Surgical and Isolation Gowns: Barrier Protection Matched to the Procedure
Not every gown needs to be the same gown. A routine examination doesn't need the same fluid-strike-through resistance as an arthroplasty, and over-spec'ing every gown to AAMI Level 4 means paying premium prices for routine wear. Our range is built so you can match the gown to the case.
Five gown types in our range
Standard non-woven gown: for routine procedures, examinations, and isolation use. Reinforced gown: additional barrier laminate at the front torso and sleeves, for high-fluid procedures. Ultrasonic-bonded reinforced gown: uses thermal bonding instead of stitching, eliminating needle holes that compromise barrier performance; the right choice for arthroplasty, cardiac, and major abdominal surgery. Lab gown: 40 GSM non-woven, for laboratory and non-clinical professional use. Patient gown: comfortable, dignified, single-use for hospital and clinic stays.
What "reinforced" actually means
The fluid-resistant laminate sits across the chest, abdomen and forearms: the zones that take the most fluid contact during open surgery. Standard gowns leave these areas with single-layer barrier protection, which is fine for low-exposure cases but inadequate for high-volume bleeding or irrigation. Reinforced is the procurement default for any surgery where the surgeon is operating in front of a flowing field.
Sterile vs. non-sterile
Reinforced gowns intended for the sterile field are individually sterile-packed in peel-open pouches. Standard non-woven gowns ship non-sterile for use as protective outer garments outside the sterile field (isolation rooms, procedural areas, and contagious-patient care). Specify which you need when ordering.
Compliance
All gowns are DRAP registered, the fabrics meet EN 13795 performance standards, and the facility operates under ISO 13485:2016. Available primarily in XL with L and XXL options on the reinforced lines; contact us for size mix on bulk orders.
