Surgical Tapes, Bandages and Fixation Products
The tape and bandage shelf in any clinical store is usually a mess of brands, formats, and sizes accumulated over years of one-off purchases. Consolidating to a single supplier with a full range simplifies stocking, reduces per-unit costs, and means your wound care, IV fixation and orthopaedic departments aren't competing for stock.
Full range in one place
Surgical paper tape (3yd and 5yd) uses a gentle hypoallergenic adhesive for sensitive skin. PE transpore / transparent tape is perforated, water-resistant, and easy to tear in both directions. Fixroll / Fixomull-style retention tape: large-area non-woven for full-coverage dressing fixation. Autoclave indicator tape provides colour-change steam sterilization confirmation. Cast padding: soft under-cast liner for orthopaedic immobilisation. POP / Plaster of Paris bandages: fast-setting, multiple sizes from 2.5cm to 30cm. Crepe bandages provide graduated compression for sprains, strains, and post-operative oedema.
How to think about the range
Each tape is formulated for a specific purpose. Using the wrong tape isn't dangerous, but it costs you in either skin trauma (over-aggressive adhesive) or fixation failure (under-spec'd adhesive). Our range covers the standard hospital decision tree: paper tape for fragile skin, transpore for IV lines and tubing, Fixroll for large dressings, and zinc oxide-style tapes for high-tension joint support.
Orthopaedic basics
Cast padding goes under the cast, POP bandage is the cast itself, crepe bandages are for compression after the cast comes off (or for non-cast soft-tissue injuries). Stocking all three from one supplier simplifies orthopaedic department procurement significantly.
Standards
All tapes and bandages are DRAP registered. POP bandages meet dimensional and setting-time performance specifications for orthopaedic use. We supply test certificates on request.
