Disposable Surgical Caps: Hair Containment That Stays Put
Hair on a sterile field is one of the easiest infection-control problems to prevent and one of the most common to overlook. Disposable caps solve it cheaply, but only if the cap actually fits. A surgeon cap that pops off mid-procedure or a bouffant whose elastic fails by lunchtime defeats the whole purpose.
Two formats: surgeon cap and bouffant
We make two cap formats. The surgeon cap is the tie-back style preferred in operating theatres. It gives a tailored fit, full coverage, and stays put through long procedures. The nurse cap (bouffant) is the elasticated round cap used across wards, sterile services, cleanrooms and food-processing environments. It's one-size-fits-all, accommodates long hair without trouble, and goes on in two seconds.
Built for full-shift wear
Both caps use a lightweight polypropylene non-woven that breathes properly. They're latex-free across the whole range, which matters in environments where staff or patients may have sensitivities. Available in blue, green and white; most hospitals colour-code by department or staff role, and we can supply mixed cartons.
Who we supply
Operating theatres and CSSDs standardising staff PPE; pharmaceutical cleanrooms needing ISO-classified particulate containment; food-processing plants requiring HACCP-compliant hair containment; and distributors supplying any of the above.
Pack sizes built for stocking
Caps go through a department fast, so we pack them in quantities designed for high-turnover use rather than retail display. Standard packs of 100 pieces with carton-level wholesale pricing for orders that justify it. DRAP registered and imported from ISO 13485-certified manufacturers in China.
When caps need to be changed
Best practice (AORN, WHO surgical safety guidelines) requires a fresh cap at the start of every case and any time the cap is touched, removed, or visibly soiled. Single-use disposable caps make this easy: no laundering cost, no cross-contamination risk between departments, and no question about whether the cap was properly processed.
Colour-coding and customisation
Many hospital infection-control teams use cap colour to differentiate staff roles: surgeons in one colour, nurses in another, students in a third. We supply blue, green and white as standard and can arrange custom colour orders at sufficient volume. Mixed-colour cartons are available for sites that stock multiple roles from a single storeroom.
